What a QR code is and how to make one
A QR code is a square pattern that holds text: usually a link, but also Wi-Fi details, a contact card or a phone number. Any modern phone camera reads it and opens what it contains, with no app.
The QR codes you make here are static: the content is written into the pattern itself. They don't go through any server, need no subscription and work forever.
How it works
- 1
Pick what it opens
A link, Google reviews, Wi-Fi, a contact card or a phone number.
- 2
Fill in the details
The QR is generated in your browser as you type. Nothing is sent to us.
- 3
Pick a colour and size
A dark colour on a white background, so every phone can scan it.
- 4
Download and test it
PNG for screens and everyday printing, SVG for a print shop. Scan it with your phone before printing.
Why make a QR code for your business
More Google reviews
A QR on the counter or the receipt opens the review form directly. Customers don't have to search for your business.
Wi-Fi without questions
Customers join with one scan, without asking for the password or mistyping it.
From paper to phone
On a menu, a window, a card or a flyer, the QR brings customers to your page without typing an address.
Five kinds of QR code for a business's everyday work
Each kind writes its content in the format the iPhone and Android cameras understand, so it opens correctly with one tap.

Before you print
Does the QR code I make here expire?
No. It is a static QR: the link or details are written into the pattern and don't go through any server. Some services make “dynamic” QR codes that go through their own server and stop working when the trial ends. This one works for as long as the page it points to exists.
Can I change the link after printing?
No, a static QR can't change. If you expect to change the page, put a stable address of your own site in the QR, such as /menu, and change what that page shows.
How small can I print it?
As a rule of thumb, no smaller than 2×2 cm on a card or receipt. For a poster or window, it scans from about ten times its width: a 10 cm QR reads from about one metre.
Do you store what I type?
No. The QR is generated entirely in your browser. Your Wi-Fi password and contact details are not sent anywhere.
The QR leads to your website. Is it ready?
A QR on a menu or a window is almost always opened on a phone. If the page is slow or hard to read on mobile, the customer leaves before seeing what you offer.
